WAVster is an application designed for recording and editing WAV files.
Some of us still have those old tapes/cassettes and it would be nice to change the support for those track we might not find in digital format these days in order to save them from destruction. So, WAVster might be of help in this case. It can be used to record audio files in WAV format and enhance the sound quality or create mixes. Recording is supported using any source supported by your computer: line-in , microphone, etc.
WAV files can be processed using various tools, effects and filters in order to increase their quality or to make them sound fashionable. You can add noise, amplify, add delay, insert silence, reverse, and these are only a few examples out of the 26 effects available. Your tracks can also be filtered: band, low and high pass, low and high shelf, notch and peak EQ filters are available for you to choose from. You can record and edit both stereo and single-channel audio files. You can split files into several pieces or paste two files together and many more.
The graphical user interface is extremely well designed, providing a quick access to all its features. These features are available using the menu or the shortcut buttons on the interface. On mouse over, tips are being displayed, explaining the functionality of each button.
